Bill supports the identification and building of collaborations between research groups, businesses in the digital, Internet & creative industries, and the Connected Digital Economy Catapult.


Bill has over two decades experience working in ICT-related roles in SMEs, academic institutes, and in large multinationals. He was a researcher on, and consultant to, ESPRIT software-based research projects, and has successfully developed and run his own web-based business, as well as coaching and consultancy businesses. He was based for several years in Canon Research Europe's Intellectual Property department as patent engineer, and is experienced in issues around the legal protection of digital technologies. Prior to moving to Oxford, Bill was a Governor of Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. He has several filed and granted patents in the UK and US.
