Anthea is responsible for communications and external affairs at OII. She is passionate about communicating research, engaging and inspiring audiences, and building partnerships with impact.
Media & Communications Manager
Sara manages the media and communications activities for the OII, job-sharing with Veena McCoole.

Phil is responsible for developing and maintaining the OII’s suite of websites, including user experience, user interfaces, and the OII’s visual identity.

Duncan is responsible for the day to day financial management of the department.
HR Manager
Ornella is responsible for the operation of the HR functions, she ensures that a professional, proactive and customer-focused HR service is delivered, consistent with University-wide guidelines.
Executive Assistant to the Director of the OII
Marie is EA to Professor Victoria Nash and is the first point of contact for all matters relating to the Director.
Facilities & Building Services Manager
Karen looks after the OII's buildings and the people inside them. She manages all three sites, oversees health and safety in the department, and works as part of the HR team.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer
Karl is responsible for overseeing the implementation OII’s Athena Swan Action Plan. Additionally, she works with the EDI Chair on broader EDI initiatives throughout the department.
Executive Assistant to Senior Executive Team
Callum is an Executive Assistant at OII, providing wide-ranging support to the Senior Executive Team. Before coming to the University, Callum worked in the music industry and in adult social care administration.

Sarah is the first point of contact for all matters relating to Professor Helen Margetts.
Administrative Assistant
Alethea Peall is an Administrative Assistant at the OII. Alethea provides administrative support across a wide range of areas within the department, including finance, HR and recruitment, facilities, health and safety, and events management.

Chaitanya Rawat is the first point of contact to the DSF Professors - Professor Carl-Benedikt Frey and Professor Chris Russell.
HR Administrator
Caroline is a friendly and approachable HR Administrator with over ten years of experience working in Recruitment and Staffing.
Receptionist
Jane works on Reception at 1 St Giles. She works closely with the Facilities & HR Officer.
Graduate Studies Manager
Chrissy manages the administrative support for the OII’s MSc and DPhil programmes, from recruitment and admissions, through to on-course student progression.

Laura manages all on-course administrations for the OII's DPhil Programmes.

David manages all on-course administration for the OII’s MSc Programmes.
Graduate Studies Assistant
Katherine is the first point of contact for general enquiries relating to teaching.
Head of IT
Jon comes to the OII having worked as the IT Manager leading a small team for two Humanities Faculties, prior to moving into IT Jon was a Research Academic working at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine.
Head of IT User Support
Arthur is responsible for the management of the user-facing IT systems at the OII: desktops, laptops, audio-visual facilities, network infrastructure, as well as deputising for the Head of IT on server projects.
IT Officer
Patrick offers first line support and helps with ad-hoc projects within the IT department.
Head of Research Facilitation
Katia oversees Research Facilitation in the department, and supports the growth and development of OII research activity. She co-ordinates preparation of research proposals, working with researchers from all career stages.
Senior Science Writer
David provides advice and editorial services to the OII faculty, and writes commissioned content for our publications.
Research Grants Officer
Lindsay’s role offers a full range of support to Faculty and other researchers within OII in both pre-and post-award aspects of research admin. She works pro-actively with a broad range of colleagues across the Institute and the wider University.

Chris provides administrative support to OII’s research staff on grant applications, post-award administration, and related topics.
Research Programme Manager
Lucy works as Programme Manager for the Dieter Schwarz Foundation Research Programmes on AI & Work, and AI, Government and Technology.
Research Project Administrator
Arabella supports the management of the Fairwork research project. She holds doctoral and master’s degrees in international relations and has worked in project management in the space of low-carbon development.
