David Waterman is Professor in the Department of Telecommunications at Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. His research and teaching interests center on the economics of media, and more generally on the economics of information. He is author of Hollywood's Road to Riches (2005, Harvard University Press) and a number of other works on economics of the media industries, and media distribution via the Internet. Professor Waterman has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University.

While at the OII, Professor Waterman will be studying the economic viability of the Internet as a media distribution system, and related policy issues.
