The Internet in Britain: 2007

By William H. Dutton and Ellen J. Helsper
Cover of The Internet in Britain: 2007

The Oxford Internet Surveys (OxIS) is a series of regular surveys asking Britons about their experience of the internet. This report presents analysis of the 2007 edition of the survey.

It finds a slowing rate of increase of internet use even as the internet has become an infrastructure of everyday life, with two thirds having access to the internet. The report also sets out the continued existence of a ‘digital divides’, the reasons for non-use of the internet, and patterns of internet use in contemporary Britain.
