About

Yashwinie graduated with a Master of Global Affairs from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, where she also studied the History and Philosophy of Science and  Technology; and Ethics, Society, and Law. Before joining OII, Yash gained experience in various roles at the World Bank Group, United Nations Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights, and the MaRS Discovery District.

She has worked in multiple levels of government in Canada where she specializes in emerging technology policy, including trustworthy artificial intelligence guidance for the Government of Ontario. She is currently the Digital Strategies Policy Advisor at Environment and Climate Change Canada, specializing in long term strategies and emerging technologies.

Yash’s research interests lie at the intersection of digital ethics and policymaking.
