About

Ursula Martin (MA PhD FIEE FBCS CEng) was recently appointed chair of ACM-W, the committee on women of the ACM, the world’s leading professional body for computing. She currently holds a joint appointment at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Cambridge. As one of the UK’s first female professors of computing, she has a distinguished record in research and service in computing and mathematics, and more widely in national and international activities for the discipline.

At the OII, Ursula worked with social researchers to explore strategies for the ACM to promote diversity and the status of women in the computing professions.
