Sophie holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Neuroscience from Columbia University. She has professional experience leveraging data for social good across the domains of public education, gender equity policy, and criminal justice. Most recently, Sophie worked as a data analyst for Recidiviz, building tools to safely and equitably reduce the incarcerated population in the US.
Sophie is particularly interested in studying the use of technology in high-risk settings and investigating algorithmic fairness, bias, and transparency.
