PhD Candidate at the University of São Paulo, from where she holds her Bachelor degrees in law. During her undergraduate studies, Paula held a scholarship at PET – Sociology of Law related to the Ministry of Education’s Department of Higher Education (SESU) in conjunction with the Department of Philosophy and General Theory of Law of the University of São Paulo. Paula has been a teaching assistant for the Privacy and Data Protection undergraduate course.
Paula’s main research interest is on data protection and its interface with other regulatory frameworks – as she has papers published about privacy; data portability rights and competition law; legitimate interest and constitutional law; as well as algorithmic discrimination. Her PhD research is focused on the regulation of health data in Brazil.
