Max previously worked as a data scientist for 5 years at Canva and Atlassian, most recently in the Trust & Safety team at Canva. Max studied mathematics at University of Sydney (as well as law for a few years).

Max is passionate about cross-disciplinary research into complex socio-technical systems, combining ideas and concepts from philosophy and social sciences with technical understanding of how a system operates.

Max is interested in reading and writing, and practice this at 10000-words.ghost.io . Max also enjoys basketball, running, swimming, and all boardgames under the sun, with the exception of Monopoly. Max is drawn to ideas that are difficult to grasp – a blessing and a curse!
