About

Louis is a technologist, researcher and campaigner with a focus on making tech issues more accessible to the public.

Louis is the founder of PikTop, the world’s biggest public leaderboard of TikTok videos, and Attention, a publication at the intersection of tech and fun.

As a Research Associate, Louis is a member of Dr Luc Rocher’s Synthetic Society Lab, working in alignment with the Lab’s mission to investigate opaque platform algorithms. Louis also frequently corresponds with Dr Mohsen Mosleh on his research.

Louis is a Senior Fellow at the Mozilla Foundation, a Fellow at the Shorenstein Center, Harvard Kennedy School, and an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University.

In 2021, Louis was banned and legally threatened by Meta for creating Unfollow Everything, a tool to delete users’ news feeds, leading to a major lawsuit against Meta.

Previously, Louis was one of two inaugural Fellows at Berkman Klein Center’s Applied Social Media Lab. As an entrepreneur, Louis has built and sold multiple startups.
