Kathryn (Katie) is a Marshall Scholar who holds a BSc in Computer Science, a BA in Philosophy, and a minor in Poverty and Human Capability Studies from Washington and Lee University. She has researched social media content moderation at Carnegie Mellon University’s Media, Interaction and Technology Lab and the University of Washington’s Social Futures Lab, where she co-authored publications cited by Vox, MSN, and other international news outlets. As an alumna of Google’s Computer Science Research Mentorship Program, she has collaborated with Google’s People + AI Research group and delivered multiple talks at Google. In 2024, she was named Omicron Delta Kappa’s National Leader of the Year in Academics and Research.
