Joelle is interested in how our digital environment influences how we create, transform, connect, and project our stories of ourselves and our society and how we, in turn, shape our digital environment. Her research interests include how political content and discourse on social media intersect with the hyper-presence of humor and comedy/parody in internet culture and discourse. She is also interested in generational differences in online behavior and attitudes toward our digital environment. She holds a BA in International Studies, with additional studies in digital technology and emerging media and French, from Fordham University.
