Gwen is interested in civics education, advocacy, and democratic participation in the digital era. Particularly, they are interested in how the Internet offers new opportunities for accessible civic engagement, such as through memes, petitions, and online protests. Gwen is the co-author of “Democracy in Aotearoa New Zealand: A Survival Guide”, an introductory textbook on the New Zealand political system. They hold a Bachelor of Communication in political communication from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
