About

Dongoh is a Senior Policy Advisor at Google’s Trust and Safety Team. He has been with Google since 2016 and is currently responsible for creating and overseeing policies for Chrome Browser and relevant AI policies to protect user safety and privacy.

As a Visiting Policy Fellow, he plans to work with the GET program team and Professor Mittelstadt on examining the impact of LLM and the web ecosystem, and the alignment problem of AI.

Prior to joining Google, Dongoh worked as a policy researcher at the Science and Technology Policy Institute in Korea and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. He also served as an information and communications officer in the Republic of Korea Navy.

Dongoh holds a Ph.D. in Social Informatics from Indiana University, Bloomington in the United States, a Master’s degree in History of Science and Technology from Seoul National University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Korea. He has published academic works in the fields of history of computing and science and technology studies.

AI and Technology Policy including Responsible AI Policy,  Social Impact of Generative AI, and a social & historical perspective on computing
