(They/Them)

About

Blue investigates the societal impact of AI tools, leveraging a technical Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam. Their academic focus spans the technical facets of fairness and explainability in AI, as well as the broader multidisciplinary effects of AI on society.

Blue’s experience as a Trainee Digital Policy Advisor at the European Parliament and working with a variety of European Digital Rights NGOs, strengthened their interest in conducting research that is relevant to the societal discourse and informs policymaking.

Blue’s technical background in AI combined with their experience in digital policy making and community organising, motivates them to bridge the gap between society, academia and policy. Blue advocates for systematic research and development of tools and approaches to ensure intersectional, holistic and fair algorithmic and AI systems, emphasising the necessity to centre affected and marginalised communities.
