About
Bhargav is an interdisciplinary researcher in AI and Social Sciences, having published papers and workshops at leading venues across disciplines, such as Nature, ACL, Organisation Studies, Cognition, and more. Bhargav received an MA in Computational Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and spent two years as a doctoral candidate at the Computer Science department at EPFL, before leaving to focus on public policy and social sciences research.
Bhargav continues to work in AI Policy as the AI and Tech Lead at the Autonomy Institute, and was formerly Senior Research Fellow at the IPPR. Bhargav’s AI policy work ranges from the labour market impact and firm composition of AI in the UK, to its climate impact and integration in public services.
At the OII, Bhargav is interested in rounding out quantitative skills with qualitative methods, and focusing on understanding value generation and worker relations in the global AI supply chain.
