The aim of this project is to develop an AI-enhanced tool that integrates Large Language Models and social science theory for the rapid detection of conspiracy theories and provide insights to governments and policymakers on combatting such theories.
This project seeks to understand the health of the UK online information ecosystem, including tracking the spread of divisive and misleading content.

In 2022 Jonathan Bright became the Head of AI for Public Services at the Turing Institute, having previously been a faculty member of the OII. A political scientist, he specialises in computational and ‘big data’ approaches to the social sciences.

Ana Valdivia is an interdisciplinary scholar interested in the sociotechnical aspects and technopolitics of AI. Her research explores the environmental impacts of AI by combining both computational and ethnographic methodologies.
