Sir Alex Allan served as the first UK Government e-Envoy (at the time the OII was founded). Previous roles included Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister and High Commissioner for Australia. Allan was subsequently Permanent Secretary of the Department of Constitutional Affairs and Ministry of Justice and is former chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee and Head of Intelligence Assessment, UK Cabinet Office.
