Congratulations to Professor Christine Gerrard (Faculty of English), whose use of Cabinet alongside lectures whilst teaching her course ‘Democratising the Classics: popular literature, consumer taste, and material objects in the eighteenth century’ has been recognised with an OxTALENT Award.  Her entry came first place within the category ‘Innovative Teaching and Learning with Technology’.  The Award was presented at a ceremony last night at the Oxford Martin School by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education, Professor Martin Williams.  You can read about the other winners here, and further details on her winning project on the University’s Digital Education website.

Cabinet is an award-winning online platform developed through a collaboration between the OII, the Faculty of History, and the University’s museums and IT Services to encourage the use of museum collections in teaching using digital technology.  It provides a way to share collections of 2D and 3D images with students, with additional features including collaborative annotation and discussion tools, and embeddable video and audio.  You can find out more about the project here.
