The OII webcam, located at the former Oxford Internet Institute (OII) office on St Giles, Oxford, was one of the oldest in the UK. The OII has now moved to the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, and the webcam is currently offline.
The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is a multidisciplinary department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to understanding the social and technological shaping of the Internet and its impact on society.

The camera looks towards the south of St Giles, a street in central Oxford. The Victorian gothic Randolph Hotel is to the left, running down Beaumont Street. Directly opposite is the Taylor Institution Library, Oxford University’s library dedicated to the study of European languages. It is housed in one wing of the building that houses the Ashmolean Museum, the world’s first university museum – which is open to the public. Built in the 1840s, it was extended in the 1930s with a building behind the tree to the right of the frame.
