What is AI and will it take away our jobs?

This talk aims to give a non-mathematical overview of recent developments in artificial intelligence, and discuss some contemporary achievements as well as applications of machine learning. I cover basic concepts of relevant technologies at a high level, with the objective of giving the audience an idea of the actual capabilities of state-of-the-art AI methods, such as those based on e.g. deep-learning.

Dr Antti Ukkonen

Dr Antti Ukkonen is a data scientist at Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) with 10+ years of experience in the design of algorithms for data analysis and machine learning. He obtained his doctoral degree in 2008 from Aalto University, and has held post-docs at Yahoo! Research, as well as Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT, prior to joining FIOH in 2015.
