New electronic document designs and systems

New electronic document designs and systems

Project Contents

Overview

Ted Nelson has led the OII into studies of the design of ICTs in ways that relate the Institute’s research objectives to his long-term work in adapting document designs for his new open-source ‘Transliterary’ system. The aim is to produce software that can unify electronic documents by converting them into compatible formats that allow mutual linking and the re-use of content. This ties in with Ted Nelson’s proposed ‘Transcopyright’ permission system, which is designed to make it legal and simple to quote online content and to integrate many sources into a collage.
