About

Dr Regina Connolly is a Senior Lecturer in Management Information Systems at DCU Business School. She has responsibility for postgraduate courses in Information Systems in the Business School and is director of the MSc in Electronic Commerce degree programme. In her undergraduate degree she received the Kellogg award for outstanding dissertation and in 1997 was awarded an MSc degree with distinction. She received her PhD in Information Systems from Trinity College, Dublin.

Dr Connolly is Professor Invite at the University of Angers, France. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Cremona, Italy; the Mediterranean University of Science and Technology, Valencia, Spain; the University of Mostar, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Trinity College, Dublin. She acts as external PhD examiner for the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and is external examiner for postgraduate MIS programmes at Trinity College Dublin. She has served on the expert eCommerce advisory group for Dublin Chamber of Commerce, which has advised national government on eCommerce strategic planning.

Dr Connolly is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Internet Commerce, she is Senior Editor of Information Systems Management and is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Advanced Decision Sciences.

She has received funding awards for her research in medical informatics and in 2008 was awarded the Villanova University Research Excellence Award of Merit.

In 2008, Dr Connolly was appointed by the Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, T.D., to the Medical Council of Ireland.

Research Interests

Medical informatics, healthcare information systems, eGovernment, government information systems, strategic information systems, IS governance and compliance, ubiquitous computing, and ambient intelligence.
