Rafael Grohmann is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies (Critical Platform Studies) at the University of Toronto and Research Associate at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. His research focuses on digital labour, AI and work, workers’ organizing, platform cooperativism and digital solidarity economy. Grohmann is collaborating with Fairwork project, based at OII, especially Fairwork AI. Grohmann is interested in, by mapping the global production networks of AI, analyzing how data work shapes social media/media industries, and how to hold Big Tech companies accountable for it.
