About

Pauline is a media science student from Germany specializing in social media use and psychological wellbeing. As an undergraduate student Pauline worked as a research assistant at the chair of media effects research at the University of Tuebingen in multiple research projects in the realm of internet use and wellbeing.

Pauline’s bachelor’s thesis developed a new conceptualization of the fear of missing out (FoMO) and applied it to the target of lifestyle, proposing a 10-item psychometric scale. Pauline is especially interested in social media influencers, political communication on social media networks and in both individual and collective online identity.
