Linda is a DPhil student in Social Data Science jointly supervised by Dr. Balazs Vedres and Dr. Helen Margetts. Her research focuses on developing an agent-based model to understand how social media impact offline protest participation by shaping social network structure. Prior to joining the OII, Linda worked as a data analyst/consultant at the United Nations ESCAP. She holds a BA in Sociology from Fudan University and an MSc in Sociology(Distinction) from the University of Oxford. Besides, she has always been interested in science fiction and TRPG.

With mobile devices ubiquitous among young people, it is not surprising that parents are increasingly turning to technology for help in childcare. This project examines monitoring technologies and how parents use them as part of child supervision.
