
Ig(nace) Snellen is (em.) Professor of Public Administration at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He is past President of the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA), a branch organisation of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences. For the last 15 years he has specialised in the impact of ICTs on the internal and external relations of public administrations. He edited (with W. van de Donk) ‘Public Administration in an Information Age: A Handbook’ IOS Press 1998.
At the OII Professor Snellen undertook a comparative study (NL and UK) of the impact of internet applications on the discretion of street level bureaucrats, such as public servants, teachers, and medical doctors.
