About
Amelia Hassoun’s research focus is on smart home technologies, particularly in the context of ageing in cities. This project builds upon prior research at UCL on London community health and social care data in the NHS, as well as research (with UCL’s Why We Post project) on communication technologies in hospice care while at Yale. Before re-entering the wild world of academia, she worked as a patient website developer in London.
Research Interests
Digital and medical anthropology, smart cities, ageing, RFID and sensor networks, science and technology studies, urban planning, participatory design in health and social care.
