About

An internationally acclaimed expert in the Governance of Information Technology (IT) and Sustainability Management, Alison brings over twenty-five years of experience in the IT industry working in Europe, the USA and New Zealand. Delivering excellence across the private and public sector, she owns a business that specialises in organisational governance, strategic planning, procurement, and expediting organisational change through the use of business realisation technologies. She is currently taking 3 months away from her business to carry out a piece of research as an Academic Visitor at the Oxford Internet Institute, Oxford University.

Alison heads up the New Zealand delegations to the international standards committees for IT Governance and Service Management (SC40) and Software and Systems Engineering (SC7). The British Computer Society published Alison’s first book on the Governance of IT in 2013.

Alison is a fellow of the Institute of IT Professionals, one of the first certified IT professionals in New Zealand and she holds a number of professional memberships, including the NZ Institute of Directors. She has recently been appointed as a trustee of the NZ-UK Link Foundation, which exists to strengthen the links between the two countries. Alison is a member of the World Class New Zealander Network and is committed to mentoring young technology companies and helping New Zealand’s international competitiveness and economic growth.

In her spare time, Alison enjoys supporting the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and studying the art of producing fine wine. Alison is a trained cricket umpire.
