About

Alexsis is a business executive and investment professional with diverse experience in corporate finance, private equity, venture capital and technology. She is the founder and managing partner of Merian Ventures, a US and UK venture capital firm.  Merian Ventures funds female founders and co-founders in cyber, AI, ML and consumer-facing technologies.

Prior to creating Merian Ventures, Alexsis held leadership roles and board seats with companies she funded or founded, senior executive roles in YBA Ventures, Commerce One and Shell International where she served in a number of management positions, including director of M&A, venture investments and treasury advisor.

Alexsis is also founder and chairman of The Althea Foundation, a social-venture fund she established in 2003.

Alexsis is a frequent speaker and author on business, investing and the role of women in entrepreneurship and technology. She serves on the US-UK Fulbright Commission, is an Advisor to the Oxford Internet Institute, Oxford Foundry, leadership board of The Osher Center at the University of California Medical School, San Francisco. She is an investor and board member of Provenance and an investor and Advisor to CirrusIdentity, ImpactVision, CareerLark and Populus. Alexsis has a MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MBA from Erasmus University, Holland and a BA from the University of Texas, Austin.
