About

Alex Shee is a Visiting Policy Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute. His background as a former lawyer, venture capital investor, and leader at two prominent AI companies uniquely positions him at the intersection of law, business, and technology.

Currently serving as the co-chair of the Global Partnership on AI’s Future of Work working group, Alex plays a pivotal role in supporting global initiatives focused on the development of responsible AI. His leadership in this capacity has facilitated collaborative efforts worldwide, emphasising the importance of ethical considerations in the deployment of AI technologies.

Alex’s collaborations with prestigious institutions such as SKEMA Business School,

His engagement with Oxford further highlights his dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships with leading research institutes.

As an invited lecturer to universities such as McGill University, HEC Paris, Laval University and Sherbrooke University, Alex has proven his ability to communicate complex concepts effectively. His co-authorship of a paper with Turing Award winner Yoshua Bengio and a policy brief on the impacts of Generative AI on the workplace with 17 world-renowned experts, including Janine Berg from the International Labour Organization, further establishes his scholarly contributions.

Alex’s international presence as a speaker in conferences like SXSW and the International Startup Festival, coupled with his previous role as a podcast host of the AI Element on Artificial Intelligence, attests to his capacity to disseminate knowledge and engage diverse audiences.
