Laura is a DPhil student at the University of Malaga, supported by a scholarship from the Soroptimist International of Europe. Her research examines the dialogue initiated by the UNESCO-CI press releases as an indicator of the communication process between international institutions and global citizens. At the Oxford Internet Institute, she is researching into Wikipedia as an indicator of the communication process between global citizens, under the supervision of Professor Mark Graham.
Laura has a BA in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Malaga; during the final year of her course, she studied at the University Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona, having been awarded the SICUE-Seneca scholarship. She later moved to Paris, where she did an internship with the FARO programme; she also attended master classes at the EPHE as an observer and guided the Spanish conversation group at the Cité Internationale.
She has completed a double masters degree: MA in English Studies, Multilingual and Intercultural Communication from the University of Malaga and MA in European Studies from the University of Passau. She went onto study an undergraduate degree in Spanish Law at the National University of Distance Education. After that, she was a Blue Book trainee at the Publication Office of the European Union. She has also worked as an independent Communication Consultant.
