Jun Liu’s research integrates insights from communication and political sociology to critically scrutinize the mechanism of contention and governance in the digital age.
Dr Jun Liu
Jun Liu is a visiting fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute and an associate professor in the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication and the Centre for Communication and Computing at University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
His research areas cover political communication, information and communication technologies, and political sociology. He has articles published in Mass Communication & Society, Social Movement Studies, Acta Sociologica, among others. His research has won several awards, including The Best Dissertation Award, The Information Technology and Politics Section of American Political Science Association. His work on political contention and digital technologies is part of an ongoing book project entitled “Communication and Contention in the Digital Age,” under contract with the Oxford University Press.
