About

Julian is focused on researching and guiding the development of transformative AI towards outcomes that benefit humanity. He is currently a program associate on Open Philanthropy’s AI governance and policy team. Before this, Julian worked as a summer research fellow and subsequently as a research assistant for the policy team at the Centre for the Governance of AI. Prior to studying at the OII, Julian obtained a BA in Economics from McGill University.

Research Interests

AI Governance, Compute governance, AI security, AI misuse, and Defensive applications of AI systems.
