Questions of security in the modern age are intrinsically linked with the internet and new technologies. Cybercrime, threats to cybersecurity, and data leaks are all seemingly constant features of the digital age.
Research at the OII considers all these problems. We ask questions like: How do internet users behave in the face of cybercrime? What is the future of strategic cyber deterrence? What does a feminist conception of community-based cybersecurity look like?
This project examines the fragmented legislations and legal landscape that governs the development, sale, and deployment of AI technologies used for government surveillance.
Reconfigure is a feminist cybersecurity project that uses community-based participatory methods and feminist approaches to reconfigure cybersecurity research and build public capacity for data privacy and action.
Through empirical research, this project seeks to understand the determinants of individual cyber security behaviours of students in France and the UK.
