About

Professor Rochlin will look back at the central themes of his book, ‘Trapped in the Net’, which dealt with the major societal implications of informational and operational networking. Although some of the issues that emerged a decade back have been overtaken by events, others persist. He will review these and offer his most recent thinking on the negative externalities of the continued spread of IT, ranging from electronic voting through overextended credit to identity theft to the ability of various antisocial groups to organize over the net.
