Reinventing Government of the People: Exploring NZ experiences with Citizen-Centric Government

Date & Time:

About

Governments around the world are developing ambitious reform programmes to transform government and become ‘citizen-centric’ instead of organisation-centric. However, so far it is not clear how ICT-enabled, citizen-centric government needs to be conceptualised and understood. Even more problematic for the design of citizen-centric government is the fact that there is not much systematic, empirical knowledge available on the ‘citizen’-side of e-government relationships.

This presentation will look into experiences with citizen-centric public sector innovation in New Zealand in order to explore potential characteristics and conditions for citizen-centric government.
