Oxford Digital Ethnography Group Seminar Series
About
Famously described as one of the first artists whose work ‘looks and feels like life today’ (both on- and offline), Ryan Trecartin is an ambiguous figure in recent art. Between celebration and satire, his collaborative video and installation work is inscribed in ‘Post-Internet’ art. But beyond an art historical frame, how might this practice speak to the social sciences? The seminar will start with a brief presentation, followed by a screening and group discussion.
