About
This workshop will discuss the ethical and legal issues that have emerged from the Diagnostic Mammography National Database Project (eDiaMoND). The workshop will begin with a presentation of the project, including its vision and implementation. This will be followed by a roundtable discussion of the issues raised and lessons learned from the project for the future of e-Science research. Position papers, background papers, and tapes of the discussion will be used to a forum discussion paper on eDiaMoND as a case study of e-Science research.
The workshop is supported by the ESRC IMaGE Project: Ownership of Intellectual Property Rights in Medical Data in Collaborative Computing Environments, the ESRC Oxford e-Social Science Project (OeSS): Ethical, Legal, and Institutional Dynamics of e-Sciences, a node of the National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) and the e-Horizons Institute of the James Martin 21st Century School.
