About

Dr Mingqiu Song is an Associate Professor of the School of Management, Dalian University of Technology, China. She will be a visiting fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute from October 2009 to August 2010, supported by China Scholarship Council.

Her previous research focused on the network information security, including network intrusion detection, access control and web bad information filtration. She directed the project of Individual Web Filtration Technology based on VSM for the Ministry of the Public Security of China and several other projects. She is the main attendee of the major program of NSF of China: The Key Fundamental Issues and the Technologies in the New E-commerce in 2009-2013.

Her work extends to the industry field. She is a PIPA (Personal Information Protection Assessment) valuator. She participated in the ITSS as a consultant of DTP group and was named as the first Chairman of Dalian DTP Industry Consortium on December, 2008. The society is pursuing the industrial transformation from the traditional DTP to electronic media.

While at OII she will study the adoption of the secure developing methods. She will conduct an investigation on Internet software security quality in software enterprises, including top management, institution forces, enterprise culture, social environment, etc. These factors may impact the assimilatiom of secure developing methods.
