Liv is a student in the MSc in Social Science of the Internet program at the Oxford Internet Institute, originally from Louisville, Kentucky. She holds a BA in Communication with a minor in Political Organizing in the Digital Age from the University of Southern California.
Her academic and professional interests focus on the intersection of technology, civic engagement, and democracy. She is particularly interested in how digital platforms influence activism, voter mobilization, and political micro-targeting. Additionally, she focuses on structural barriers‚ such as the digital divide, algorithmic bias, and platform governance‚ that influence social media’s role in democratic engagement. Before joining the OII, she worked on civic technology and policy through research at USC’s Civic Paths Research Group and by supporting election integrity efforts at TikTok USDS.
