About

Narankar is a Shirley Scholar at the University of Oxford, where he analyses technology and its effects through the analytical framework of the social sciences. As a research analyst specialising in technology and artificial intelligence (AI) for a think tank, Narankar conducts cutting-edge research across both broad and niche areas, leveraging his interdisciplinary background to come up with innovative solutions to challenging problems. His work addresses critical issues from (but not limited to) bias in Large Language Models (LLMs), to advanced and complex topics like AI Consciousness and AI Metaphysics.

Prior to joining Oxford, Narankar served on the board and executive committee of Warwick AI, focusing on AI Safety. He graduated with first-class honours in Politics, Philosophy, and Law from the University of Warwick, where he received the Examiners Prize for the ‘Most Outstanding Performance on the Degree’, ranking top of his cohort (Valedictorian).
