Avnee studied psychology at an undergraduate level where she gained experience working as a research assistant at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge. She also worked on government initiatives to improve curriculum diversity and facilitated a mentoring programme for female engineering and computing students at her university. Avnee is a Shirley Scholar on the MSc in Social Data Science, and her research interests include social networks and human behaviour, social and cognitive psychology, and human-computer interaction.
