About

Daria Onitiu is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Trustworthiness for AI Auditing project. She investigates the legal aspects of trustworthy AI in medicine, healthcare and open science and contributes to the legal and policy aspects with regard to a meta-toolkit on trustworthiness in AI.  Previously, she was a Research Associate at the UKRI Governance & Regulation Node at the Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (TAS) programme and based at Edinburgh Law School. She completed her PhD at Northumbria Law School where she defined the implications of algorithmic personalisation systems in fashion for an individual’s privacy, autonomy and identity. Her research is interdisciplinary, and she has a passion for investigating emerging expectations at the crossroads of AI, governance and human rights.
