Nina Jankowicz
Vice President, Centre for Information Resilience
Nina Jankowicz is an internationally-recognized expert on disinformation and democratization.
Nina Jankowicz coined the term “gendered and sexualised disinformation” in 2017. In 2020, she led a pioneering research study looking at its effects in the U.S. election. In 2022, she herself became a target of a widespread online hate campaign that used the very tactics she had studied. Drawing from this research and her book How to Be a Woman Online, Jankowicz demonstrates how malign actors use gendered and sexualised disinformation to silence women and people of marginalised identities and provide tips for holding one’s digital ground and fighting back against online harassment. Nina Jankowicz, the Vice President the Centre for Information Resilience, is an internationally-recognized expert on disinformation and democratization and the author of two books: How to Lose the Information War and How to Be A Woman Online.
