Mais Donald Trump sait lui aussi tirer profit des bots. Le chercheur d’Oxford Philip Howard, qui s’intéresse à la « propagande computationnelle », a analysé les tweets publiés autour du débat entre les deux candidats à la présidentielle américaine, rapporte la BBC. Selon ses travaux, 32,7 % des tweets pro-Trump, soit près d’un tiers, seraient en fait l’œuvre de bots, contre 22,3 % des tweets pro-Clinton. En tout, affirme le chercheur, 576 178 tweets auraient ainsi été publiés automatiquement en faveur de Donald Trump, contre 136 639 pour Hillary Clinton.
