About

Sonia Liff is currently a Reader in Industrial Relations and Organisational Behaviour at Warwick Business School, Warwick University. She was previously employed by Aston and Loughborough Universities. She has researched and published in the fields of gender and employment; technical change and occupational and skill needs; and equality and diversity policies and practices. More recently, research interests have focused on social inclusion and internet use. She has been undertaking projects and writing on internet use and participation in real (cybercafes and community technology centres) and virtual (community websites) public spaces and on changing patterns of internet use by men and women. This has included editing a special issue of New Media & Society on cybercafes in 2003.

Research Interests

Public access places, community networks, social inclusion in the Information Society, gender and Internet use.
