About
I am a scholar of digital propaganda and authoritarian political communication, with a focus on China, Eastern Europe, and Russian-speaking countries. I am a fellow at the Oxford Martin Programme on Misinformation, Science and Media.
I investigate how political groups and governments use AI and social media to campaign and manipulate public opinion. I also study how the reliance on digital technologies changes the organizational structures of people behind these manipulative campaigns.
My current research projects focus on pressing emergencies, including the war in Ukraine and climate change. I am familiar with multiple programming environments and software. I designed scientific tools to track and analyze how narratives about these emergencies circulate in the global communication environment.
I hold teaching and research positions at University of Oxford and University of Westminster. In the past, taught at Middlesex University, University College London, and University of Portsmouth. I teach social data science, digital research methods, journalism, political and communication theories.
