Dr Patrick Allo

Patrick Allo’s main research is in logic and the philosophy of information. His current research focuses on the development of a logical approach to information visualisation.

Patrick Allo is a Research Associate of the OII, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Free University of Brussels. During the academic years 2015-16 and 2016-17 he was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow a the OII working on the project The Logics of Information Visualisation.

His research focuses on the role of formal methods within the philosophy of information, and the impact of ICT’s on epistemic practices, and collaborative science (esp. mathematics).

He is a collecting editor of the journal Logique & Analyse, an associate editor for Logic and Technology of the journal Philosophy and Technology, and associate editor for the Philosophical Studies Book Series. He also maintains the Information Theory leaf-category at Philpapers. He is also a founding member and current chair of the Society for the Philosophy of Information.
