About

Cornelius Puschmann is a postdoctoral researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin’s School of Library and Information Science (BSLIS) and a research associate at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) who studies computer-mediated communication and the Internet’s impact on society, especially in relation to science and scholarship. His current project Networking, visibility, information: a study of digital genres of scholarly communication and the motives of their users, funded by a grant from the German Research Association, investigates the use of (micro)blogs in academia, combining qualitative social research with digital content analysis.

He is on the editorial team of the scholarly blog hub de.hypotheses.org, operated by CNRS, and a participant in the HIIG’s Open Science project. A full overview of publications and current projects is available on his website at http://cbpuschmann.net/.
